REDEEMER

Magone Marine Service’s towing and salvage vessel REDEEMER was built in 1945 by De Foe Shipbuilding in Bay City, Michigan, as a U.S. Navy YF 852 Class Covered Lighter (self propelled). When declared surplus by the Navy she was originally named Tenille. The ship has a registered length of 124.5 feet, a beam of 30 feet and is admeasured at 196 gross and 63 net tons. She is powered by two Caterpillar 3508 marine diesel engines which provide 1550 horsepower to her twin shafts. She is used by Magone Marine Service for towing and salvage work based out of Dutch Harbor in the Aleutians.
