SKAGWAY SMALL BOAT HARBOR

The Skagway Small Boat Harbor has 110 stalls for for pleasure craft, fishing vessels and tugs, as well as an eight-foot grid and boat launch ramp. Fuel, water and boat storage are available. Location: Eastern shore, Taiya Inlet, below mouth of Skagway River, approximately 400 feet southeast of Spring Str.

Remarks: Float D is 235- by 6-foot, with 23- and 24-foot stalls; Float E is 338- by 8-foot, with 24-foot stalls on
southwest side; Float 1, located at the end of Float A, is 190- by 12-foot; Float 2, located at the end of
12-foot. Public seaplane float is located at the end of Float B. A 80- by 18-foot timber grid is located at
south side of harbor. Fuel float is located adjacent to Float A. Small Boat Harbor has berthing space
for 180 vessels.



WHITE PASS & YUKON WHARF

White Pass and Yukon Corp. Wharf (., .): 1,500 feet of useable berthing space; 35 feet alongside; two 30-ton straddle carriers, two 10-ton forklifts; 2 acres open storage; pipelines extend to tank farm in rear; storage capacity for 213,000 barrels; containerized and general cargo, cruise ship traffic, and receipt of petroleum products; owned and operated by White Pass and Yukon Corp., Ltd.

Purpose: Occasional receipt and shipment of containerized and conventional general cargo; receipt of petroleum products; mooring cruise vessels.

Remarks: At time of survey, several sections of wharf were in poor condition. Plans call for the entire reconstruction of the wharf. Approximately 2 acres of open storage area are located at rear. One 12-, one 8-, and extend from wharf to 11 storage tanks located at rear of Skagway Terminal Co. Wharf (PWD Ref. No. 183), total capacity 63,000 barrels. One 12-inch, bonded petroleum pipeline extends from wharf to approximately 15 stoWhite Horse, Yukon Territory, Canada; total capacity 150,000 barrels.

SKAGWAY FERRY TERMINAL

Shared by ferry vessels of the Alaska Marine Highway and container barges, this floating dock provides pass-pass and ro-ro barge capabilities. The dock and transfer bridge have 80 ton gross deck load capacity. Contact: Harbor Master, P.O. Box 415, Skagway, AK 99840

Purpose: Receipt and shipment of containerized and roll-on/roll-off general cargo; landing for passenger and vehicular ferry; fueling vessels.

BROADWAY DOCK

Broadway Dock; 120 yards SE of Skagway Terminal Co. Pier; 240-foot face, 970 feet withdolphins; 30 feet reported alongside in 1994.

Purpose: Receipt and shipment of containerized and conventional general cargo; mooring cruise vessels.

ORE WHARF

Conatins a 1250 ft dock, a 108,000 sq ft warehouse, a 64,000 GVW vehicle ramp, open storage areas and bulk fuel facilities. Depth at dock: 42 ft. The facility is used by ore carriers, cruise ships, and barges. Contact: WP&YR.

Location: Eastern shore, Taiya Inlet, below mouth of Skagway River, foot of State Street extended, Skagway.
Purpose: Occasional shipment of lead and zinc ores.
Owner: Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority.
Operator: Skagway Terminal Co. and Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority.
