IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
Alaska Special, Mobile Centers Needed
The Marine Exchange of Alaska has been working with
the Transportation Security Administration and its contractor Lockheed
Martin and the U.S. Coast Guard to come up with a common-sense solution
for the implementation of the TWIC Program in Alaska. Lockheed Martin
and TSA acknowledged that, with only four fixed enrollment centers
planned for Alaska, forcing people to travel from everywhere else in
Alaska to these four centers two times would create an undo hardship
for business and individuals who would be required to possess a TWIC
card. Lockheed Martin agreed to provide mobile enrollment capability
for smaller locations outside of the fixed centers located in Anchorage,
Juneau, Nikiski, and Valdez. The majority of these mobile enrollment
visits have already ended but a few more have been scheduled.
